Unai Emery has applauded Dani Ceballos’ mentality ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League opener against Newcastle United.
Ceballos moved to Arsenal on loan from Real Madrid earlier this summer and has featured couple of times for the Gunners in the preseason and took a heavy kick on the ankle against Barcelona last weekend at the Nou Camp and Emery feared the worst for him.
Although, Ceballos returned to training the very next day and now is in line to make his Premier League debut against Newcastle today.
‘Ceballos’ mind is very strong,’ Emery said ahead of the match.
‘His mentality. Last Sunday, when he received a big kick on his ankle I thought “oh, it’s broken”.
‘But after, on Monday, he was training – (he said) “I’m fine and want to train”.
‘He is showing us every day his ambition, his hunger is big. I think we need players like this.’
