Eddie Nketiah is up and running for Leeds, as he scored his second in his second outing for the Peacocks – tapping in the winner against Brentford on Wednesday night and the Englishman received huge praise on Instagram after the match.
Nketiah joined Leeds, on loan from Arsenal to get some regular minutes under his belt and what better than under Marcelo Bielsa – made his debut for the Whites in the Carabao Cup’s clash against Salford City, where he kick-start his Leeds career with a goal. He was handed his Championship debut on Wednesday, coming off the bench and proving the super-sub Marcelo wanted him to be.
Leeds United were dominating Salford but weren’t able to break through the Ammies defence and that’s when Bielsa turned to Nketiah. Arsenal loanee was brought on with Helder Costa and the duo once again linked up to make sure Leeds get the three points off the clash.
Another dominant start to the season continues for Leeds, as they maintain the top of the table position with ten points (out of possible twelve).
Eddie followed his match winning performance by posting a photo of his celebrating with a cheeky caption: “Anyone order a goal?”

Meanwhile, the goal gives Bielsa a headache, which in the way is a nice problem to have for Leeds United manager. With two in-form strikers delivering for him at the start of the new season, the Argentine hinted that he’s considering lining up with both strikers. Patrick Bamford has bagged three goals from four games while Nketiah scored the winner for Leeds against Brentford on Wednesday night.
“It depends about the needs of the game. According to what the opponent is doing you, there is the possibility to play with two strikers,” Bielsa responded in the post-match press conference.
“Because sometimes playing with a lot of strikers can have positive impact and sometimes the opposite.
“So the key is reading what type of game you are playing and which is the best two to play with two strikers.
“It is important to play both strikers together. Both mix well. One is right-footed and the other left-footed player. Both know how to go to the sides. Both know how to play one in front or one in the back of the other one.
“They can make the link of the game and after make a lot of movements. Then you have to think that it is something you have to be thinking during the games.”
Arsenal starlet Emile Smith-Rowe and Chelsea goal getter Tammy Abraham also reacted to Nketiah’s Instagram post, with former Villa ace Abraham telling Nketiah he is “proud”.
