West Bromwich Albion have signed Arsenal left Back Kieran Gibbs on a four year deal for an undisclosed fee.
Gibbs will join West Brom after spending about ten years with Arsenal having about 200 appearances under the Arsenal badge.Gibbs even represented England for 10 times in that period.
Kieran Gibbs insists that he is now ready to embrace a new challenge. He said speaking to West Brom’s official website :“I watched the boys in the first few games of the season and they’ve got a lot of energy. They’ve made some good signings and I feel this is a good move for me.”
“It has been an amazing journey to play for my childhood club since I was 14. I would like to thank Arsene Wenger for giving me the chance to start my career and fulfil a dream!
“Thank you to all the fans, the Arsenal staff and especially my teammates who have been there during the special moments and have helped me through some tough times.
“Now it’s time for the next chapter with West Bromwich Albion and I can’t wait to get started with the boys!”
And Gibbs Insists he will improve under the watch of his new boss Tony Pulis.
“I spoke to him and have always been impressed by him and how he goes about his work,” says Kieran.
“He’s different to what I’ve had before and I feel he can develop me in certain areas I may be need work on. He can help me progress.”
Albion Chairman John Williams says: “I’m delighted to welcome Kieran to the Club. We have recruited another quality addition, an England player with bags of experience at Premier League and Champions League level. We are confident he will do well for us.”
West Brom manager Tony Pulis says that Gibbs is the right man for the club,here is what he said speaking to West Brom’s Website :
Pulis said: “We’ve now got a deal which I think is right for the club and I’m really pleased to add a player of this quality and experience to our group.
“Kieran’s a good age and has made over 200 appearances for Arsenal, represented his country and has Premier League and Champions League experience.
“To add these qualities to our squad is exactly what we’re looking for.”
Weat Brom has added Olivier Bruke,Gareth Barry,Ahmed Hegazi and Jay Rodirguez to their squad this summer.And Gibbs is the latest to join Albion who are looking quite if a deal this season.
