Arsenal are having a major turn-over in the goalkeeping department, with Aaron Ramsdale arrival and him taking on the starting spots between the sticks – followed by the arrival of Matt Turner from the States and Bernd Leno closing on a move away from North London.
With Turner coming in to take up backup responsibilities to Ramsdale – a highly rated Arthur Okonkwo has narrow space to get minutes and set his mark to develop ahead of his eye-catching antics for the academy.
Okonkwo was part of Arsenal’s USA Tour and did get some minutes here and there, but most importantly getting some time with the squad and gelling in.
Now that he is up to his preseason fitness, he is expected to join League Two side Crewe Alexandra on a season-long loan, with a full agreement between both the clubs in place.
Okonkwo is highly rated at Arsenal and is considered a big part of the future at London Colney. But it is time to get down the leagues and develop.
Will have a keen eye for what he’s been upto at Crewe Alexandra around the upcoming season.
