English giants Arsenal have been shell-shocked as Marseille have shown their back towards Eddie Nketiah transfer. As per transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the French club’s move for the 25-year-old can be considered ‘100% collapsed’ as they were not ready to meet their counterpart’s financial demands.
The failed Marseille job for Eddie Nketiah
Roberto de Zerbi’s side held a keen interest in the striker and they submitted several bids for him. However, they were well short of the Gunner’s asking price.
Arsenal had already compromised on their initial asking fee and decided to sell him for a €30 million deal which includes a loan plus an obligation to buy.
🔵⚪️⛔️ Olympique Marseille have also informed Arsenal that Eddie Nketiah deal can be considered 100% collapsed.
OM didn’t want to accept €30m package after having bids rejected, despite the green light from the player.

Ornstein earlier reported that Marseille only offered €20m but the Premier League club was ready to be flexible in this deal. Nketiah had set his heart on a move to his new club and had agreed a five-year contract with them.

Marseille stun Arsenal by securing a move for 21-year-old Lens striker
Out of nowhere, his potential future club has decided to move for Lens’ ace Eyle Wahi for €30m. It is rather shocking to see that they kept Arsenal hanging and when things looked good, they decided to ghost the Gunners completely.
Although the English ace won’t have a shortage of suitors this summer, this move by Marseille will certainly affect their relationship with the North London side. The fans wouldn’t have imagined this disrespectful act by a club to whom we have loaned players, and we are supposed to maintain a good rapport with.

The talented attacker has played remarkably well in the preseason games. He also featured 37 times for Mikel Arteta’s side last campaign. Nketiah needs regular game time and there will be a club that will truly value his potential.
His natural goal-scoring instinct and endless work-rate while pressing will help any team in the PL and all over Europe. In search of a diamond, Marseille have certainly lost the gold.
