Arsenal duo Karl Hein and Brooke Norton-Cuffy are set to depart the Emirates Stadium. Goalkeeper Hein will join La Liga side Real Valladolid on a season-long loan, while Norton-Cuffy, a right-back, will join Serie A team Genoa on a permanent transfer.
Brooke Norton-Cuffy: Another academy graduate leaving
Norton-Cuffy will be the third Hale End graduate to leave the Gunners for a transfer fee this summer, following the footsteps of Emile Smith Rowe and Mike Biereth. The 20-year-old has had plenty of senior football experience but has yet to make a first-team appearance with Arsenal.
The defender has enjoyed loan spells at Lincoln City, Rotherham United, Coventry City, and Millwall, amassing more than 100 appearances between them in the past three seasons. Norton-Cuffy is also an England youth international, having represented the Three Lions at various age groups.
He will reportedly join Genoa for a total fee of around £3.5 million with a sell-on clause included. With Norton-Cuffy not in Mikel Arteta’s plans, this will be a good opportunity for the talented youngster to prove himself at a top-tier club.
Karl Hein set for loan spell
Having recently extended his contract with the Gunners, the North London side have officially confirmed his departure to La Liga side Real Valladolid on a loan spell. Hein has been seeking regular game time in senior football, having made only 11 appearances in his entire career.
The 22-year-old joined Arsenal in 2018 from his hometown club, Nomme United. He made his debut for them in September 2022, starting against Brighton and Hove Albion in the Carabao Cup. Hein has yet to make his league debut for the Gunners.
Despite not making many club appearances, Hein is an established player for his country, Estonia. The goalkeeper is their first choice and has made 30 appearances for them. Hein also started all three of Arsenal’s games in the pre-season tour of the US.
Arsenal Core wishes the two departing players the best of luck for their upcoming season.
