Arsenal have been looking to accelerate their outgoings in the ongoing summer transfer window as they look to make considerable arrivals once the surplus players are sold. One of those players linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium is Polish defender Jakub Kiwior.
Is Kiwior’s time at Arsenal over?
Jakub Kiwior has not put a foot wrong during his tenure donning the cannon badge; however, the arrival of Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna earlier this summer means that the opportunities arriving his way would be slimmer as the Italian defender is very similar in the basics around position to Kiwior. Calafiori, like Kiwior, is a left-footed defender who can feature in the left centre back as well as the left back role.
Many assumed that the Gunners would move on from Oleksandr Zinchenko following the arrival of the Italian international. However, the former Manchester City defender has come into the season with renewed energy and a grind to win back his place in Mikel Arteta’s eleven. Though it is expected that either Jurrien Timber or Riccardo Calafiori will take Zinny’s place in the squad once they get up to speed.

This leaves Kiwior in the middle of nowhere. And Arsenal are looking for a solution for the 24-year-old this summer.
Arsenal rejected a loan offer for the player from Italian giants Juventus for Kiwior, but expect more Italian conversations that could eventually lead to his departure.
While the Gunners also offered him in the original deal to send the player to Bologna in a cash-plus-player swap deal to bring Calafiori to North London, Kiwior wasn’t keen on moving to Bologna with Thiago Motta.
Now, Premier League side Crystal Palace have made contact with the Gunners to enquire about Jakub Kiwior’s availability this summer.
Crystal Palace come calling for Jakub Kiwior
The Eagles under Oliver Glasner have been a breath of fresh air as they play a highly technical brand of football, one where Jakub’s technical prowess could help in abundance. They do have Andersen and Guehi at the heart of defence; however, the latter has been linked with a move away from Selhurst Park, and Glasner may bring in a highly technical defender to replace the Cobham graduate.

Alternatively, with Munoz being in a highly offensive space, he can take Kiwior and fit him with the aforementioned duo of CBs to make a back three out of possession and in a left back role with the ball.
Palace look like a team that can reap massive dividends by having Kiwior in their squad. And they also have cash in hand to spend on upgrades, something that could tempt Arsenal into sitting on the negotiation table with Steve Parish.
