Arsenal have offered a scholarship deal to Scottish star Callan Hamill, and the player has reportedly accepted the deal.
He signed a new one year deal with St. Johnstone FC but is now set to move to the Emirates Stadium next season.

He played with the North London outfit’s U15/16s in a friendly vs. St. Albans before joining the U18s for their clash against Brentford and Paderborn in July. He made four U15 appearances for Scotland and has now been called up for their U16 side.
Hamill can move permanently to South only at the end of the U-16 season. We expect a compensation deal to happen between the two clubs. Recently, the Athletic journalist Jordan Campbell disclosed the profit gained by St. Johnston via this transfer. He said:
“It’s better for St Johnstone financially because I think the training compensation would have only been about 30,000 euros from the Old Firm but they’re due close to 130,000 if a player moves to an English team.”

St. Johnstone will be happy with this deal since they will receive £111,000 from Arsenal. That’s much better than the £32,500 they would have received if the defender joined Scottish clubs Rangers or Celtic. Both clubs admired the player but weren’t able to leapfrog Arsenal in this race.
Arsenal continue to invest in academy transfers
These clubs are aware of their players moving to bigger leagues for accelerating their development, and hence, they are planning to use these funds to improve their academy.
Arsenal director Edu Gaspar and academy manager Per Mertersacker want to recruit young talents at Hale End. They signed Danish goalkeeper Lucas Martin-Nygaard this summer and are now offering a scholarship deal for Hamill.
The 15-year-old can play as a centre-back or as a right-back, also slotting in midfield if needed. He can be a perfect replacement for former academy prodigy Reuell Walters, who left the club in search of more game time.
