As revealed by Secret Scout via X, Arsenal have completed the signing of West Ham star Kyran Thompson, fending off interest from elite English clubs.

Chelsea, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United were highly interested in the 15-year-old. The youngster was set to join Spurs, but the Gunners picked up pace and presented a more attractive project.

The deal was secured last month, but they were waiting for the Premier League to complete its five-step ratification process. Thompson has finally put pen to paper, and we are eagerly waiting to see him train at the Hale End Academy.

The Hammer’s star posted a photo on Instagram in which he is seen standing next to Per Mertesacker when the senior defender was plying trade for Arsenal. Seven years down the line, the youngster has finally signed a contract with his dream club, with academy manager Mertesacker alongside him.

Thompson is a promising player, first scouted by the Kent Elite group before being signed by West Ham. His progress didn’t go unnoticed, as several English giants were impressed by his ability to play in multiple positions upfront.

The 15-year-old can operate as an attacking midfielder or a right winger, is comfortable playing with both feet, and is quick on the counter. He will be the second academy signing to walk through the gates of London Colney this summer alongside goalkeeper Tommy Setford.

Thompson will join our U15 squad and will be aiming to quickly rise through the ranks. He will train under the watchful eyes of U18 manager Jack Wilshere.
