Arsenal star Laura Wienroither was forced to be sidelined from the starting XI before the club’s away game against Leicester City on Sunday.
The 25-year-old defender sustained an injury during the warm-up, forcing Jonas Eidevall to bring Emily Fox into the matchday team.
The former Bundesliga honcho was seen leaving the ground on crutches but was able to walk freely. It might be an indication that the injury is not serious.

The Austrian ace was about to make her first appearance this season but has to wait a bit longer now.
She has been out for a year after sustaining an ACL injury in the UEFA Women’s Champions League semifinal clash vs. Wolfsburg in May 2023. The defender made her comeback in a 5-0 win over Bristol City in the Women’s Super League.
It might be a slight niggle since she just returned to training. The manager confirmed the news, but the extent of the injury remains unknown. Eidevall said:
“Yeah (it was an injury), that is why we changed but I don’t have an update on that.”
Wienroither joined the Gunners in January 2022 and has made 49 appearances for the club. She recently signed a new contract and will be aiming to show his true potential once fully fit.
Meanwhile, the North London outfit has a major injury crisis to deal with. The Austrian joins Leah Williamson and Steph Catley on the sidelines.
They only had 18-year-old Katie Reid available against Leicester, and that leaves them vulnerable at the back. The club will be sweating on Wienroither’s fitness as games come in thick and fast.

The manager made a number of changes in the starting lineup as the club played their fourth game in two weeks. They will now welcome Everton at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
