Arsenal have focused on bringing highly skilled players who increase the potential of their squad marginally while getting them closer and closer to Manchester City, jointly and severally. And while a few windows have been about getting those sprinkle on the top signings, the Gunners haven’t forgotten about their rich heritage of nurturing young talents into high-quality players.
As per a recent exclusive by TBR Football, the Gunners have been looking at Ivory Coast midfielder Mario Dorgeles, who currently plays his trade in the Danish top tier with Nordsjaelland, where he has become a regular in the starting lineup after having moved to Denmark when he turned 18 in 2022 from Ghana-based Right to Dream Academy.

And he could be on the move to the English top tier as Arsenal express interest in his services. However, the Gunners aren’t along; the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, and even Brentford have all been looking to sign the 20-year-old defensive midfielder. And the report reveals that multiple Premier League clubs are closely monitoring his progress and watching him on a consistent basis.
Could Dorgeles be Arsenal’s Obi Mikel?
Some of the scouts that have been watching Mario Dorgeles have described him as being ‘similar in demeanour and play’ to former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel.
While having the next John Obi Mikel is a great prospect, the Gunners can land him as a like-for-like replacement to Sambi Lokogna in their roster, with the Belgian midfielder linked with a move away from N5. While Sambi hasn’t featured for Arsenal for some time, he was stacked to be the next number six at the Emirates Stadium, and while the chances of that happening look bleak at the moment, Mikel Arteta can set another player to take on the challenge to progress to the levels that Arsenal want of their young players.
