Arsenal targets Hugo Larsson in transfer battle with Tottenham, but will he join the Gunners?

Premier League rivals Arsenal and Tottenham are set to contest for the signature of Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Hugo Larsson’s signature. The 20-year-old Swede has impressed in the German side’s midfield this season and the two north London rivals along with Liverpool are monitoring his progress with hopes of signing him.

Frankfurt paid just £8 million to sign the player from Malmo in 2023 but his development with his current club means they will demand a hefty sum. As per German outlet BILD, Eintracht would demand close to £70 million for the player, despite him having merely 30 Bundesliga starts to his name.

However, in a hugely relieving and positive sign for the German club, Larsson has committed his future and expressed his desire to stay.

In a recent interview, Hugo Larsson admitted he is in no rush to take the next step in his career. Despite being a regular in Eintracht Frankfurt’s first team, he has vowed to stay on with the club instead of seeking a move. Speaking to German outlet Kicker, he said,

“I wouldn’t sign anything I didn’t want to. I feel very comfortable at Eintracht – on and off the pitch. I enjoy my time here. I think Frankfurt are getting better every year and I want to be a part of that. We can become one of the top clubs in Germany, if we aren’t already.”

Since joining Eintracht last summer, Larsson has been a key member of the team. The towering midfielder has made 54 appearances for the club across competitions, also contributing with five goals and three assists along with his defensive work.
