Arsenal are ready to revisit one of their most tantalizing transfer sagas — Dusan Vlahovic, the striker who slipped through their fingers in 2022.
Arsenal seem keen to circle back on one of their most popular transfer sagas in recent times by reigniting interest in Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic. The Gunners were locked in a bidding war with the Old Lady, but the Serbian striker’s camp eventually chose the latter in one of the most controversial transfer stories back in 2022.
Vlahovic has since established himself as Juve’s number one striker, scoring several goals during his time with the club so far. However, his future with them has been thrown up in the air of late, with reports from Fabrizio Romano suggesting his contract situation with his current club is delicate. The report adds that the player’s camp is searching for alternative options.
In the wake of these developments, Arsenal will look to re-enter the race to sign Dusan Vlahovic. Mikel Arteta desperately needs a proven goal scorer in his team and the time could be right to go back in for their target.
What would Dusan Vlahovic bring to Arsenal?
A tall striker standing at six-foot-three, Vlahovic still possesses decent speed and energy. A left-footed player, he can score with his feet as well as with his head, and is also adept with taking set-pieces. Aged just 24 currently, he still has several years of top-level football to offer and could be seen as an important investment at the Emirates Stadium.
Vlahovic has been prolific at every club he has represented so far, especially making a name for himself with Fiorentina and Juventus. He made 108 appearances for the former, scoring 49 goals and providing eight assists as well. The Serbian has already bettered that tally with Juve, making 117 appearances and adding 50 goals and 10 assists to his team’s cause.

While Arsenal are also exploring other options such as Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP or Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig, Vlahovic’s ability is bound to turn heads since he has been on their wish list way longer than their other targets.
