£100m Newcastle United superstar ready to force a transfer to Arsenal on a bargain price

Bruno-Guimaraes-Arsenal

As per the Athletic, Bruno Guimaraes is unhappy with his life at Newcastle United, and he could leave the club next year. It is also said that he could join Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal for a bargain fee, much less than his original release clause.

The 27-year-old is a key target for Manchester City, but the Gunners are also well placed in this race. Guimaraes has struggled to replicate his form this season and has managed to register just five goal contributions in 17 games.

With Newcastle United yet to hit full gear, it is said that the Brazilian midfielder is all set to find pastures somewhere else. City have made contact with the player’s entourage in the past, and the Magpies star himself admitted that he is aware of the reigning champions’ interest in him.

But he would still prefer to join Mikel Arteta’s project as per sources. He is currently valued at £100 million, a fee that is difficult to extract from top suitors.

Newcastle also needs to abide by the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules, and hence, the South American star could now be available for a bargain price of just £60-80m next year.

The Arsenal Fanatic News on the Patreon has rejected this news, claiming that a January move is highly unlikely. The North London outfit is expected to have a quiet transfer window, and the manager himself has admitted that he fully trusts his current squad. While talking to Arsenal’s official website, he said:

“I never expect January to be super busy, but we have to wait and see where we are. Some surprises can come. We are prepared for that, some opportunities as well, and we have to see.”

Guimaraes has a better chance to start every game with Arsenal. He could form a mouth-watering partnership with Declan Rice at the heart of the midfield.

The Gooners’s lack of goals from open play this season highlights the fact that they need a creative force in the team. Rice’s absence could further expose their lack of options in the middle.

Hence, signing the Newcastle star for a cheaper price is always going to work in their favour. The midfielder is an experienced PL star and has helped the Magpies grab a spot in the European competitions in the absence of Sandro Tonali.

Guimaraes’a teammate Alexander Isak is also a key target for the English giants. We don’t expect a move in January, but the summer transfer window might bring a lot of surprises to the table.
