Arsenal have been keeping tabs on Deportivo La Coruna attacker Yeremay Hernandez in recent times, with views of bringing the player to the Emirates Stadium. As per a fresh report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, the Gunners were informed of the player’s €20 million asking price recently, which could be an indication of discussions moving further between the two clubs.
The north Londoners are likely to face strong competition for the 22-year-old attacker from familiar foes Chelsea, who are also keen to add Hernandez to their ranks. Both clubs see great potential in the player, who has shown incredible progress in the last couple of years to put himself on the radar of Europe’s finest clubs.
A quick, agile and fearless player, Yeremay Hernandez enjoys the challenge of taking players on in one-on-one situations. He makes great runs into the opposition box and can also finish them well displaying striker instincts. With age on his side, there is plenty of time to polish his raw abilities, with a suitable destination to do so being the main priority for the player.
It remains to be seen how Arsenal react to the asking price for Yeremay Hernandez, and whether they decide to make a move in January or wait it out until the summer.
Yeremay Hernandez’s season so far with Deportivo
Hernandez has made a good start to the LaLiga2 campaign with Depportivo La Coruna so far and has been influential in their results. Despite the club sitting 17th out of 22 teams with 25 points to their name, Hernandez has been a shining light in an otherwise dark season for the team.
The player has scored eight goals and also provided three assists for his teammates in 18 games so far, which includes goal contributions against teams closer to the top of the table.
Arsenal are in search of a player with a similar output to Hernandez as they look to plug gaps in their squad that were created due to injuries. They would be further motivated to get the deal done as this could prove to be an investment for the future as well.
