Arsenal left winger search narrows between Eze and Lookman
While Eze is under serious consideration, there were earlier links to another option, Ademola Lookman. The Atalanta winger, London-born and thriving in Serie A, has just handed in a transfer request in an effort to join Inter Milan, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Inter have already seen one bid turned down, but Lookman appears determined to leave. At 27, he’s in the prime of his career, having excelled as a left winger, right winger, and even as a second striker in Italy. From a stylistic perspective, he may have been an ideal fit at Arsenal.

Reports in recent months had suggested Lookman was open to a return to London, and had Arsenal rekindled their interest, a deal may have been possible. However, sources close to the club say there are concerns over whether Lookman fits the current profile Arteta is seeking especially with Eze still on the table.
There are also tactical questions around Eze. While undeniably gifted, Arsenal reportedly have reservations about using him on the left wing full-time. That wouldn’t have been an issue with Lookman, whose best football in Italy has come in that exact role.
