Arsenal winger Noni Madueke is quickly silencing the doubters. After completing his £52m move from Chelsea in July, plenty of people questioned whether Mikel Arteta really needed him. But both at club level and now with England, the 23-year-old is showing exactly why Arsenal pushed so hard for the deal.
Noni Madueke impresses for England
Madueke has been electric since stepping into Bukayo Saka’s role on the right flank, and his international form has only reinforced that belief. Against Andorra, Thomas Tuchel handed him a start, and Madueke was one of England’s brightest sparks in a game that otherwise lacked cutting edge.
Metro were full of praise, awarding him an 8/10 rating:
“Madueke looked bright early on with Tuchel setting up his England team to attack down the flanks. Pau Babot found him too hot to handle and was shown a yellow card in order to stop the Arsenal winger. His sumptuous cross led to the Andorra own goal.”
BBC Sport and The Mirror followed with 7/10 ratings, both highlighting his willingness to run at defenders, force mistakes, and deliver quality service into the box.
Noni Madueke had a really sparkling performance for England tonight.

Arsenal form carrying into England duty
At club level, Madueke shone against Leeds and impressed against Liverpool even in defeat. Gary Neville even admitted he liked what he saw, especially with Madueke driving at Milos Kerkez down the wing at Anfield.
Now, with England, his directness and aggression stood out. Across 75 touches, he produced 87% passing accuracy, created three chances, and registered an xG+xA of 0.73 (Fotmob). The only thing missing? A goal or assist to cap off the performance.
With Saka sidelined for a few more weeks, Madueke’s timing couldn’t be better. Arteta will hand him minutes, and if he keeps this form going, he might make it impossible for the manager to drop him even when Saka returns.
