Arsenal’s decision to allow Jakub Kiwior to leave last summer is now creating movement elsewhere in Europe.
The Polish international struggled to establish himself as a regular starter under Mikel Arteta. Even so, he remained a trusted squad option.
Across three seasons at the Emirates, Kiwior made 68 appearances in all competitions. Still, the centre-back wanted more consistent minutes. That led to a move to Portugal, where Porto secured him on loan with an obligation to buy worth around €23 million including bonuses.
Since going to the Primeira Liga, the 26-year-old has rebuilt momentum. His performances have quickly placed him back on the radar of clubs searching for a left-footed centre-back and that is where Juventus come into picture given their plans for defensive reinforcements for next season, according to Tuttosport.
They believe the back line needs a higher overall level, and left-footed central defenders remain rare in the current market.

Within that context, Kiwior has emerged as a serious option for Juventus, who are said to have already watched him in Portugal, with sporting director Marco Ottolini recently travelling to assess the player in person.
Kiwior is not new to Juventus’ radar. The club tracked him earlier in his career, including during his time at Spezia before Arsenal moved to sign him.
Porto are confident about the value of their asset
. After agreeing a deal that will total around €23 million, the Portuguese club are believed to view €35 million as a realistic starting point for negotiations. That valuation reflects both the defender’s profile and the limited supply of left-footed centre-backs in the European market.
Kiwior statistics impress in Portugal this season
Kiwior’s rise in Portugal has played a major role in Juventus’ renewed attention.
Since arriving at Porto, the defender has quickly become a regular in the starting lineup during a season where the club sit top of the Primeira Liga table. The Polish international has already featured in more than 30 matches across all competitions this season, contributing both defensively and in buildup play.
According to data from FootyStats, he averages over four clearances and nearly two interceptions per game, while maintaining pass accuracy above 90 percent. Those numbers underline his comfort in possession. Those qualities have been especially valuable for Porto.
The team have built one of the strongest defensive records in the league, conceding fewer than a goal per match on average, and Kiwior’s role in the back line has drawn repeated praise in the Portuguese press.
He is even heading to a €4 million addition on his contract if they end up lifting the league trophy.
Arsenal do have a €2m sell-on clause in Porto agreement
Even after Kiwior’s exit, Arsenal still have a small stake in any future transfer.
Sport Witness reported in August 2025 that the agreement with Porto includes a clause worth €2 million payable to the Gunners if the defender is sold later.
That means any move, including a possible switch to Juventus, would still bring a minor financial return to the Premier League side.
If Juventus push forward with their interest, the defender’s next move could arrive sooner than expected. Arsenal will watch developments closely knowing they stand to benefit financially from his continued progression in Portugal.
