Arsenal will host AC Milan at Emirates this Thursday, the hosts come into the fixture with a two away goal advantage. Arsene Wenger will certainly look to extend the lead further, early in the game – but on other hand Gennaro Gattuso will be planning ‘How to score early’.
Danny Welbeck and Andre Silva is our next vital battle of the fixture. Both the aces are looking to prove themselves at the moment and it will be interesting to see ‘who will cause more trouble’ to opposition’s defence.
Danny Welbeck
With absence of Alexandre Lacazette with injury, Danny Welbeck is given his opportunity to impress Arsenal supporters once again. With his injury record and poor run of performances, the supporters are hardly impressed by English international lately and here is a window to get his name back into first team consideration.
Welbeck has to water up his goal drought after he has failed to score since 7th January – when he scored against Nottingham Forest. His last Premier League goal dates back to 9th September. Danny has been known for his work rate since his early days but if he does not start scoring soon his ticket to Russia with England this summer gets really doubtful.
But a hungry Lion is always dangerous and Arsenal need to unleash this hungry man against AC Milan early in the fixture at Emirates to extend the lead and give themselves a comfortable cushion.
Against AC Milan in the first leg, Welbeck had couple of good opportunities to get off the mark but things just didn’t come off properly. But he has another chance to impress Wenger and he has to grab it with both hands to stay in competition for place in this Arsenal squad.
Andre Silva
Regarded as one of the best upcoming talents and the expectations were sky high after he moved to AC Milan from Porto but he didn’t lived up to the hype. Andre Silva has been superb for Milan in the European competition with eight goals under his name this season, but has fallen under the pecking order to Patrick Cutroane in the Serie A.
Andre Silva will be high in confidence coming into fixture after scoring an injury time winner against Genoa after coming on as a substitute in the sixty-eight minute.
Andre Silva has a good technique and is a solid all round striker with agility and strong finishes, the Portuguese even possesses decent pace and likes to involve midfielders in the offensive side of the game. He can play across the front three which gives Gattuso an additional option.
Despite of his young age he is matured over the ball and is ‘perfect’ to handle high pressure games like these as Milan already trail with two goals – traveling to Emirates and performing from the first whistle is going to be difficult.
