Arsenal will visit Stamford Bridge this Saturday, as Unai Emery and his men will look to make a statement after that opening loss against Manchester City.
Another big game for the Gunners as this London derby has given us quite of exciting match in recent times. As a matter of fact, Arsene Wenger found it tough against Chelsea in his decline period but it’s time for a change at Arsenal now and Unai Emery will look to put up a performance against Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea and turn the tables against the mighty Blues.
Maurizio Sarri replaced Antonio Conte at Chelsea ahead of this season and former Napoli manager raided his former club when he brought Jorgenlinho with him. Chelsea acquired the services of Jorginho from Napoli for £57m, from under the noses of Pep Guardiola and Manchester City.
Jorginho is someone who had been, one of Sarri ‘s untouchables at Napoli in the past couple of years and he is expected to be the same at Chelsea.
It looks clear with Chelsea’s performances so far under Sarri that Chelsea’s performance will revolve around Jorginho.
But what else we know about Jorginho?
Jorginho is a defensive midfielder by position but can also play as an attacking midfielder. He is known for his one touch passing and through balls. His tactical awareness and IQ for the game are extremely high.
Jorginho lacks aerial attributes though it doesn’t come into play very often in the midfield. He also lacks physicality followed by his tackling ability which is a little lacking but he covers up with the way he intercepts and get out at the opposition.
Sarri have indulged in his thoughts at Chelsea very easily and Jorginho deserves well about all of the credit for it.
Jorginho plays in his favored position at the base of three men midfield and have excelled in improvising his tasks throughout the preseason which was well followed by the Huddersfield game.
Jorginho netted his Penalty with a great confidence as well as composer, becoming only the eight player to score from the spot on his debut but you cannot take away anything from his distribution.
The Italian midfielder masterio was involved in about all of Chelsea’s threatening moves. Yes, he didn’t distribute a key pass himself through boasted highest success rate on the pitch with 93.9 %.
With the attacking side of the game, Jorginho was also involved in the defensive aspects – making five clearances, which tally is again more than other player on the pitch.
With spot-on offensive and defensive qualities, Jorginho also possesses Leadership qualities. He was regularly seen organizing the team and passing on the instructions to players around him.
Chelsea and Jorginho face their first big test in the season when they face Arsenal this weekend. Chelsea will bag on Jorginho, if they want to don over Arsenal and Emery’s attacking style of play.
