Aaron Ramsey-esque
It would surprise many, if Arsenal opt to replace one of the best attacking midfielder of the Premier League with 22-year-old Spanish prospect. But this fits in perfectly. Pablo Fornals could serve a-like replacement for Ramsey – the Spainard is an eminent midfielder renowned for his presence in the final third. Mirror has described him as: ‘Direct‘, isn’t that What we used to call Aaron Ramsey?
He is a quick passer known for his intelligent movement on and off the ball and his ability to time late runs into the box, even if his goals tally doesn’t show that, maybe it would improve with time and a bit of work. Sounds like we are talking about Ramsey once again, right? – Naah, all those are what we describe Pablo Fornals as.
Already an International
The 22-year-old is already A Spanish International, representing his country couple of times. Both of them coming couple of years apart and both of them coming in friendlies against Bosnia and Herzegovina. With the likes of David Silva and Andres Iniesta already off international duties, there is a room for youngsters to fill-in and Pablo Fornals could expect to win more caps with time as Luis Enrique starts process to establish a concrete La Roja side once again.
Wit Feet
Spain used to possess creativity and strength in the midfield in the times of Xavi, Iniesta and David Silva. Thankfully, Pablo Fornales possess pretty good feet as well. He is also filled with immense technique and do possess some fancy footwork. You could rate him somewhere above average in the Spanish Premiership, though he has given a glimpse of his capabilities mainly against Athletic Club back in September this year.
He also has possibly netted La Liga’s Goal of this Season.

Assist Machine
Pablo Fornales may have all the creative intelligence and skill at his bay – though he rather is more of an goal provider than a scorer. His first season with Villareal saw him laying twelve goals – finishing joint highest in La Liga alongside Leo Messi and Luis Suarez.
He records couple of assists this season, and also features in the top 20 for Key Passes in La Liga after twelve fixtures.
Hier to Cazorla’s Throne
Pablo has many a times been compared to Arsenal legend Santi Cazorla as they are both Spanish, skillful, playmakers but above all ‘oth are great with leaving the defenders for dead.
But Similarities don’t stop here, they both came through the youth ranks at Villarreal before shining at Malaga.
If Arsenal are able to get Fornal’s signature, his career will be somewhat similar to that of Santi Cazorla’s career.
Let’s just hope Fornals has better luck with injuries.
Release Clause
It is believed that Villarreal’s Pablo Fornals has a £17.8m release clause which in today’s market is fairly low risk option for the club.
Will he be another of Sven Mislintat gem?
