With Aaron Ramsey’s Arsenal career on the offing with the dusk of this season, it will leave some barren ground in the middle of the park for the Gunners – which highly relies and asks for creativity.
However, with multiple names already being linked with a move to North-London; one man was close to sealing himself in Red and White back in January – Yes, we’re talking about Paris-Saint Germain’s highly rated midfielder Christopher Nkunku.
If reports from David Ornstein are to be believed (trust me his words are as good as official words) via The Sun, the 21-year-old starlet is on Arsenal’s radar.
Nkunku has been given some run by current PSG manager Thomas Tuchel, making 13 appearances under him so far – he has looked composed with ball on his feet, recording a 91% passing accuracy so far and is versatile in adapting offensively.
As I mentioned earlier, Christopher was close to joining Arsenal in the winter transfer window, but The Guardian shall be confident with the possibility of getting him in the summer especially considering FFP’s potential impact on proceedings in the French capital.
If they can find a deal similar to what they did with Matteo Guendouzi, Arsenal will have struck gold. Nkunku, apart from being sensible defensively is also confident going forward – although not as classy as Aaron Ramsey but you can expect some considerable dividends if given the chance.
Although he has only scored and laid out once for Qatar owned French side, he is more than that. Nkunku is a tank who works hard in regaining possession and helps transit of defence into attack.
Arsenal have already acquired the services of Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira under Unai Emery and bringing Nkunku will possibly complete the perfect trifecta in the middle of the park for Arsenal.
Unai Emery has a long-term project in his hand at The Emirates and bringing in another rising star in Christopher Nkunku will certainly reap dividends in the near future.
