Welcome to London! You Pretty Beast!

Often we talk about Arsenal men and their rumours relating transfers. But what we transcend is the achievement of our opposite gender footballers. They have done a wonderful job this season, winning trophies and clinching glories.

To further strengthen their squad for the season of 2019/20, they recently signed Jill Roord from Bayern Munich. The Dutch international, only 22-year-old has made a name for herself coming up the ranks just like her National team mates. Perhaps, Roord has been classified way better than a lot of girls of her age.

Playing for the German giants, Roord had scored 14 goals and now joins the Gunners as an experienced candidate. Roord, teammate of our superstars, Vivianne Miedema and Danielle van de Donk is extremely excited to have to feature in North London.

“I’m really proud that I’m going to be an Arsenal player,” Roord told Arsenal.com. “Arsenal is one of the clubs in England that I really like. In women’s football, they’ve always been one of the top clubs. Of course there are some Dutch friends of mine who play there, so I’ve always followed them. I’m really looking forward to it.”

The 22-year-old midfielder is a potential match-winner for next season and has already won major trophies playing for FC Twente. She had 2 Eredivisie titles under her belt before moving to Bayern in 2017. The signing of this Dutch woman is primarily to boost our Champions League re-birth. Having won the league this season we would love to make next obe count too.

Roord is already familiar with the conditions prevailing in North London, courtesy of her Dutch teammates. She added,

“I’ve talked to them and I know they’ve all been really happy over here.”

“They also told me that I’m going to like it here and that it’s a good step. It will fit the way I play and the way Arsenal want to play too. I’ve talked to them and it’s my decision because I felt really good about it, but it helps that they’ve said these good words.

“It’s always nice if you go somewhere and there are some familiar faces on and off the pitch. That really helps and I’m really happy that I’m going to play with them over there.”

The Dutch international has signed a two-year-contract at London and would want to make every penny count. Her efforts are evident and so is her game-changing ability. Let’s bow our heads together to new Light Bearer of Arsenal.
