Eyebrows were raised when Alexandre Lacazette was replaced by his countrymen Olivier Giroud at the stroke of half time in Arsenal’s 5-0 win over Huddersfield.
Lacazette was one of the top performers of first half as he carved his name on the scoresheet with mere 3 minutes on the clock.
Olivier Giroud was brought on at half-time over Lacazette’s injury concerns.
Arsene Wenger spoke to the media over half time substitution:
‘It is an injury.
‘It looked like a groin injury and is definitely out of the weekend [Manchester United]. He might be out for a while.’
Alexandre Lacazette will be missing out at weekend, but fan favourite Olivier Giroud will take his place in the squad.
