Alexander Isak to Arsenal latest update emerges as Arteta makes him top target

Isak-Arsenal

Arsenal transfer radar is locked onto Alexander Isak. The Swedish striker has emerged as a top target for Mikel Arteta, with sources suggesting Arsenal are preparing to make a serious move next summer.

Arsenal have reportedly made Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak their primary transfer target for next summer. This is as per reports from Mirror Football, which add that the player is growing unsettled with the Magpies as their poor run of form continues. Isak’s demands are to play regular Champions League football, something that seems like a challenge for his team.

Newcastle are currently eighth in the Premier League with 18 points from 11 games. They have recorded five wins, three draws and three defeats in their games so far, and are the lowest-scoring side among the top 12 teams with just 13 goals scored. Isak has been at the forefront of these goals with four goals and two assists to his name in nine appearances.

However, the club has not show consistent signs of competing and the Swede could be tempted by a move to Arsenal, who have finished runners-up in the league for the last two seasons.

As Arsenal’s search for a new striker intensifies, their sights seem to be set on Alexander Isak as their primary target. His current contract situation with the Magpies could give the Gunners a boost in their pursuit as well.

Isak joined Newcastle United from Real Sociedad in August 2022 and has become a key member of Eddie Howe’s team in his time with the club so far. He has made 78 appearances for the club, scoring an impressive 40 goals and providing seven assists as well.

A tall yet agile player, Isak possesses a powerful shot, silky dribbling skills and also good aerial ability. His ability to run between the lines and also hold the ball up fits right into Arsenal’s style of play and Arteta will be acutely aware of this.

It is certain that Newcastle will not take anything lesser than what they paid for the player and it remains to be seen how the Gunners go about their pursuit of his services.
