Arsenal among other top clubs interested in loan move for PSG striker

Kolo-Muani-Arsenal

Arsenal are reportedly among other top clubs who have entered the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s (PSG) Randal Kolo Muani on loan in January.

The Frenchman has fallen out of favour under Luis Enrique at the Parc des Princes, with the Gunners looking to offer him a way out.

The forward had a decent season in 2023/24, totalling of 2,235 minutes in 44 games across competitions for the Parisians. In those games, he managed 12 goals and six assists across competitions, enjoying a decent season for the club. However, his involvement has taken a considerable dip this season.

Kolo Muani has made just 12 appearances across competitions, adding up to just 416 minutes of game-time, scoring two goals. Aged just 25, the striker is yet to hit his prime and could be swayed by the chance to join Mikel Arteta and his young Arsenal side.

A tall and pacey forward who can play across the front three, Randal Kolo Muani came through the youth ranks at Nantes between 2015-18. He broke into the first team in 2018 and spent four years with the club, before moving to Eintracht Frankfurt ahead of the 2022/23 season.

It was that campaign where Kolo Muani really made a name for himself as one of Europe’s top prospects. He played for a total of 3,634 minutes in 46 games across competitions for Eintracht, scoring 23 goals and providing 17 assists as well. Seeing his progress and impact, PSG moved to sign him for a whopping €80 million, with an additional €5 million in potential bonuses.

However, his productivity with the Parisians has been dipping of late. With 52 overall appearances for the Ligue 1 giants, Kolo Muani has scored just 11 goals and provided six assists. With Arsenal in need of a forward desperately, the player and the club seem like a decent fit for each other’s circumstances at the moment.
