Arsenal and Chelsea both explored a summer move for Juventus sensation Kenan Yildiz, but the Serie A giants stood firm and refused to sell one of their brightest young talents. According to Tuttosport, the London duo tested the waters back in June, only to be met with resistance as Juve made it clear the 20-year-old is untouchable.

Yildiz has quickly established himself as one of the top young players in Serie A. The Regensburg-born attacker came through Bayern Munich’s ranks before switching to Juventus three years ago. Since breaking into the senior squad in 2023, he has amassed nearly 100 appearances, contributing 16 goals and 13 assists across all competitions.

The Turkish international’s versatility has also boosted his stock, with Yildiz capable of playing across the front three or as a number 10. His technical ability, creativity, and vision have made him one of Juve’s most prized assets, attracting long-term attention from Europe’s elite clubs.

Arsenal were keen to add more attacking depth despite already signing Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze. Yildiz’s age profile and ability to adapt across multiple positions made him an ideal candidate for Mikel Arteta. Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca was also pushing for another young attacker to strengthen the squad, even after landing Alejandro Garnacho, Jamie Gittens, and Facundo Buonanotte.

With Yildiz earning just €1.5 million-a-year under his current deal, Arsenal and Chelsea sensed an opportunity. However, Juventus shut down all approaches and are now working on a new long-term contract. The proposed deal will reportedly increase his salary to around €5 million per year, underlining his importance to the project in Turin.

Despite missing out this summer, Arsenal and Chelsea are expected to continue monitoring Yildiz’s situation. Should Juventus struggle to tie him down long-term, the Turkish starlet could yet find his way to the Premier League in the future.
