Arsenal head into the first international break of the 2022/23 season on the top of the Premier League table with six wins from seven outings. There have been plenty appraise in the squad, but one of the highlights of this men in Reds and Whites is William Saliba — who finally got his opportunities in the infamous Arsenal shirt and surely he grabbed it with both hands.
Saliba joined Arsenal back in 2019 but he was sent out on loan for three successive loan spells, although much to the frustration of many Arsenal faithful, he is back now and has found his feet running at the Emirates and we can see how those loan spells developed a boy we signed into a man.
The young French international is flourishing in Arsenal colours, keeping three clean sheets and scoring twice in seven Premier Lague appearances. And his performances at the Emirates means he has earned earned him yet another call-up from the French national squad and could be on his way to making his dream come true by making the cut for the World Cup in Didier Deschamps’ squad, which will take place this winter in Qatar.
“When you represent your country it’s amazing,” Willian Saliba exclusively told Sky Sports. “My dream is to play in the World Cup with my country and I hope I will be in the team for the World Cup.”
William Saliba close to sign a new contract?
As reported by football journalist Rudy Galetii, the 21-year-old William Saliba is set to sign a new contract with Arsenal on a deal till 2027 following his stellar start to life in North London. With just two years left on his current deal, Arsenal will be glad to have this one over the line.
