Beleaguered by the transfer budget, Arsenal will have to properly utilise their so-little budget. Had they won the Europa League and subsequently entered the Premier League, they would have got around £100 million to bid for.
Thus, Arsenal are reportedly bidding for a young striker ranging around £25 million, named Ferran Torres. The Valencia sensation is being scanned for his exemplary skills and out-of-the-box acumen. The winger is being garnished not only by the Gunners but by Atletico, Leicester and Dortmund too.
The rising interest of Torres is a by-product of Arsenal not qualifying for Champions League, restricting their budget, and therefore unable to purchase Wilfried Zaha, the most adored summer transfer of pre-season. In fact, it is Arsenal inability to purchase Wilfried Zaha that has resulted in rising tide of interest for Torres.
As a nascent age of 19, Ferran Torres has established himself as a star for Valencia making 24 appearances this season. He is the only millennial to score in this season La Liga alongside Vinicius Junior. His goals may only be 2 and assist 1 but what comes off his age is his work ethic, team spirit and enthu on the field.
We have enough options in the middle but lack a winger. The epidemic disaster of Denis Suarez has finally gotten over, Mesut Ozil, mostly about to be sold, and so may be Mkhitariyan. Alex Iwobi is good but a competition on the wing is necessary.
Ferran Torres for what I’ve personally seen of him, in a few of the game, I feel can be our process of asset creation. The 19-year-old is one of the bright gems that will only become whiter with age.
Arsenal only have £45 million in their pocket and a low-key deal of £25 million justifies their budget, space and requirement. Torres is way cheaper than the Wilfried Zaha we’ve been chasing for a long time.
The only hurdle coming our way will be the strangling failure to qualify for Champions League which may stumble upon us and keep Ferran Torres at Bay, with Valencia qualifying for Champions League already.
A plethora of talent that I’ve seen in Torres which if likened by Emery too may bring the youngster to Emirates. He has the pedigree to play for big clubs, acumen to feature in the Premier League and scope to develop big.
