Arsenal are said to be considering walking away from a move after their latest bid of £70m for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo was swiftly turned down by Brighton, following a rejected first offer of £60m.
The club has been active in the transfer window, signing winger Leandro Trossard and defender Jakub Kiwior from Serie A side Spezia. However, the Gunners are still looking to add another midfielder to their roster.
Despite Brighton’s reluctance to sell Caicedo, the 21-year-old has expressed his desire to join the Premier League leaders, Despite increasing the offer amount, Arsenal’s proposal was quickly turned down by Brighton, who have maintained their stance.

Brighton Manager Roberto De Zerbi acknowledged the impact of Caicedo on the team but also stated that the club could move forward without him and focus on qualifying for Europe. Currently, they sit in sixth place in the Premier League table.
Moises Caicedo has not only caught the attention of Arsenal, but also Chelsea and Liverpool who are interested in signing him in January. Brighton is keen to keep the midfielder who has started 18 of their 19 Premier League games this season.
Caicedo joined Brighton in 2021 from Independiente del Valle and has contributed two goals and three assists in 31 appearances, including one goal and one assist in the current season.
