Victor Osimhen is on Arsenal radar, and for good reason. Now, the question is: Can the Gunners seal the deal to bring him to the Premier League?
Premier League giants Arsenal have reportedly made contact with Napoli regarding Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, who is currently out on a season-long loan at Galatasaray. This is as per Turkish outlet Sabah, who have also reported that the latest asking price for Osimhen by Napoli is in the region of €75 million.
The striker fell out of favour with current Napoli manager Antonio Conte, who maintained that Osimhen would not be included in Napoli’s squad for this season. The manager was adamant that his decision was final, and the club were forced into loaning one of their best players out.
During his time with Galatasaray so far, Victor Osimhen has been nothing short of world class. He has made nine appearances for the Turkish giants, contributing with eight goals and four assists across competitions. These performances have reportedly impressed Arsenal, who have shown interest in signing the player for a few seasons now.
The question remains – will they splash the cash for their target?
Will Arsenal spend the money to sign Osimhen?
Since the Nigerian superstar has joined Gala, their rivals Fernerbahce have shown strong interest in signing the player permanently from Napoli. Arsenal are the other club showing interest, while Premier League rivals Newcastle United and Chelsea are also in the mix. Al Hilal from Saudi Arabia have also registered their interest in the player.
Mario Branco, the Sporting Director at Fenerbahce, reportedly reached out to Napoli Sporting Director Giovanni Manna, with the latter quoting €75 million as the asking price for Victor Osimhen.
However, seeing the demand for the player and the number of clubs circling in, the possibility of getting a deal over the line at that price seems very low. Napoli have been adamant to keep the player in the past and have asked for as much as €150 million for their prized asset.
Now, with some big players in the race, it remains to be seen who comes out on top and gets their target.
