Arsenal have been in contention to land RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano for a long time now, and the Gunners have an opportunity to land the Frenchman on a reduced price.
Reports in Germany claim the Bayern Munich have cooled their interest in Upamecano and Leipzig are ready to lower their asking price for the 21-year-old.
The Frenchman is out of contract in 2021 and with only an year of contract with Leipzig his release clause would fall drastically around a region of €60 million. And with the financial impact of the unprecedented global situation, German club would be ready to depart with Upamecano for something around €40 million (£34.8m).
This has put the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United on alert, as one of Bundesliga’s bes defender for sometime now is available for a reduced price. Indeed, a tough competition between the teams lacking defensive acumen and mentality.
