A number of Premier League clubs have set their sights on Kian Breckin, a rising talent at Manchester City. The 19-year-old midfielder, who is the son of former Nottingham Forest centre-back Ian Breckin, has caught the attention of Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, Chelsea and Southampton (SunSport previously reported in January that Southampton was interested in the young midfielder). However, it is reported that City will only consider a substantial offer for the player.
Breckin has already made 21 appearances in the Premier League 2 for City’s U21 team this season, scoring seven goals and providing four assists from midfield. Kian helped the club win the U18 Premier League title in both 2020-21 and 2021-22 before moving up to City’s Elite Development Squad this season.
Breckin’s father, Ian, played over 150 games for Forest between 2005 and 2009, as well as spells at Rotherham, Chesterfield, and Wigan.
It will be an interesting watch, having City trying to lure some of Arsenal academy players – how & what they do to keep one in their ranks.
