Kai Havertz – A fine performance by the forward. The Arsenal number 29 capped off a perfect start for hosts Germany in the Euros with a goal and an assist.

Kieran Tierney – The wide centre back suffered a tough evening. Tierney didn’t play too badly from an individual perspective but as a defender, having your team concede five goals isn’t a good look.

Group B

Spain vs Croatia (3-0)

David Raya – An unused substitute as Spain stormed to a 3-0 victory over Croatia.

Italy vs Albania (2-1)

Jorginho – Italy enjoyed almost 70% possession of the ball and Jorginho was the orchestrator in the middle. He completed an impressive 119 passes, dictating the tempo and helping Italy recover from an early setback to claim all three points.

Group C

England vs Serbia (1-0)

Bukayo Saka – Was a total nightmare for the Serbian defense in the first half. Caused all sorts of problems for them and set up Jude Bellingham’s decisive goal.

Declan Rice – Did his job diligently as the midfield anchor. His defensive contributions and ability to win back possession were vital in maintaining England’s lead and securing the win.

Aaron Ramsdale – An unused substitute.

Group D

Poland vs Netherlands (1-2)

Jakub Kiwior – While the defender was quite average on the ball, Kiwior defended quite well. The Arsenal number 15 won plenty of important duels for his team as they gave the Dutch a tough match.

France vs Austria (1-0)

William Saliba – A fairly decent debut in the Euros. While there were moments of uncertainty, his overall composure and defensive work contributed to France’s victory.

Group E

Romania vs Ukraine (3-0)

Oleksandr Zinchenko – Despite the heavy defeat, Zinchenko didn’t play too badly. Was decent in defense but was ineffective going forward.

Belgium vs Slovakia (0-1)

Leandro Trossard – A disappointing game for Trossard, who struggled to make an impact. His decision-making was off, and he only managed two touches in the opposition box, reflecting a tough outing for the winger.
