As revealed by Sky Sport Germany journalist Kerry Hau, Arsenal have joined Tottenh*m Hotsp*r and Liverpool in the race to sign Eintracht Frankfurt star Hugo Larsson.
The talented 20-year-old midfielder is turning heads due to his impressive performances for the German outfit last year. The Svarte-born player moved to the Waldstadion last year from Malmo FF and made 38 appearances in all competitions.
He has started this season well with three goals and an assist in 14 appearances. Larsson’s versatility makes him an attractive target for elite clubs in the Premier League.
Premier League trio eye Frankfurt star Hugo Larsson
Spurs and Liverpool are craving more squad depth in the long run. Hence, they are eyeing the Swedish youngster, who can operate as a defensive midfielder and also a central midfielder.
Similarly, Arsenal are never shy about monitoring players who are flexible enough to play in various positions. Although the Frankfurt star is not a specialised CDM, he can offer cover to their defence when needed. He has the potential to develop himself into a quality first-team player.

But all three suitors won’t have it easy when it comes to luring Larsson to England. The player is comfortable at the Bundesliga outfit and has shown no urgency to leave. Plus, his current contract runs until 2029, which gives his parent club the edge in transfer negotiations.
His contract doesn’t have a specific release clause, and that further complicates the deal. For now, the nine-time capped Swedish star is receiving regular minutes in Germany, and it is understandable if he decides to stay put at his current club.
As per sources, Frankfurt’s directors are not at all concerned by the interest shown in their prised asset. Arsenal can only crack this deal if they convince their target to force a move or get a real opportunity anytime in the future.
There aren’t any key moments in this transfer race, and we don’t expect the Gooners to take the first step before signing a worthy sporting director.
