We are into the Winter transfer window and as we speak, it has already left Arsenal fans frustrated with the on-goings as we speak.
With departure of Arsene Wenger and Ivan Gazidis complemented with the arrival of Raul Sanllenhi as director of football, we were supposed to presage into the new era of business operations at the club.
But when Bournemouth announced signing of Dominic Solanke from Liverpool for £19 million, Gooners were left wondering over why aren’t Arsenal able to make decent profit out of departing players.
After almost losing Alexis Sanchez for nothing, they managed to scrape out a swap deal with Henrikh Mkhitaryan coming the other way – although with no cash involved.
Not to forget, ‘The Sanchez Saga’ came only months after Wojciech Szczesny was allowed to join Juventus to replace Gianluigi Buffon for only £10 million and we just saw last summer, Jack ‘golden boy’ Wilshere was allowed to join West Ham on a free transfer.
Now Aaron Ramsey is all set to join Juventus on a pre-contract agreement which amounts to nothing considering the returns once again as well and Arsenal fans are demanding answers now.
It did not take long for Solanke’s transfer to become a catalyst for Arsenal fans to discuss deficiencies they got in transfer negotiations as the Reds managed to recoup £19m for ace who has just one Premier League goal in his entire career.
Come the summer, Arsenal will have lost Ramsey, Wilshere, Welbeck, Szczesny and Gnabry for about the price Liverpool have just got for Solanke. https://t.co/MGhMQHq5im

£19m for Solanke. Arsenal got £5m for Gnabry & will get nothing for Aaron Ramsey. https://t.co/u5dYiXwULy

You can do this with any transfer but Liverpool getting £20million for Solanke and Arsenal receiving nothing for Sanchez and Ramsey is absolutely scandalous

£20m for Solanke? I honestly believe we’re the worst team in the league (maybe even Europe) at selling players. We’d get about £4m if he wasn’t allowed to go for free.

We let Szczesny go for £11mill, coquelin for £13mill, giroud for 16mill AND LIVERPOOL GOT RID OF SOLANKE FOR NEARLY 20MILL, our club is a joke @Arsenal

How have Liverpool managed to get £19 million for Solanke?! Honestly, if that was Arsenal £3-£4million at a push. We truly are terrible at getting the best money for our players.

How come Liverpool are able to consistently outspend Arsenal? Because they’re selling players like Solanke for £19m, while Arsenal are letting Ramsey, Wilshere, Welbeck, Szczesny and Gnabry go for a total of £15m. #afc
