Arsenal get huge boost in pursuit of Inter defender; Chelsea & Man United also interested

Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have all been handed a major boost in their pursuit of Denzel Dumfries, with the Inter Milan star keen on a Premier League move.

According to reports from Fichajes, the Dutch international is ready for a new challenge and would prefer a switch to England if the right opportunity presents itself. The 29-year-old has been one of Serie A’s most consistent wing-backs since joining Inter from PSV Eindhoven in 2021, establishing himself as one of the best attacking full-backs in world football.

Dumfries has three years left on his Inter deal, but despite being a mainstay in Simone Inzaghi’s plans, his future is far from certain. He was open to leaving this past summer, but nothing materialised. Now, with renewed interest from England’s elite, he is ready to take the next step in his career.

The right-back believes his style: strong, physical, and relentlessly energetic on and off the ball is perfectly suited to the Premier League. His ability to influence both ends of the pitch makes him an ideal signing for a top English side.

Why are Arsenal, Chelsea & Man United looking to sign Dumfries

  • Arsenal – The right-back position has two players who have been struggling with injuries in Timber and White. And Dumfries could finally provide Arteta with a more dynamic option.
  • Chelsea – While they already have Reece James, his injury issues mean the Blues are considering another world-class right-back.
  • Manchester United – With Rúben Amorim favouring attack-minded full-backs, Dumfries would fit seamlessly into his tactical system.

Asking price won’t scare off suitors

Inter Milan won’t want to lose a player of Dumfries’ calibre, but they may have no choice if the defender pushes for a move. The report suggests his asking price is between €25m and €30m, a fee well within reach for Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United.

This saga could be one to watch closely as the January window approaches. With Dumfries open to a move and Premier League clubs circling, the battle for his signature looks set to heat up.
