Arsenal has inquired about the availability of Bayer Leverkusen’s winger Moussa Diaby. Arsenal is said to take advantage of an excellent relationship with the Moussa Diaby agent to lure the young winger to the Emirate this summer.
The Gunners are making a ‘very serious effort’ to sign Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby & will push ahead with a move if they qualify for the Champions League. Should Diaby ‘force the transfer’, Leverkusen would be ‘willing to talk’ for €75m rather than their initial €100m valuations.
The pacy left-footer, who is equally adept on either flank, is known to be capable of providing inch-perfect balls into the box, avoiding the need to cut inside the box all the time. This season, the Frenchman has scored 16 goals in all competitions – including 12 in the Bundesliga and has assisted 13 goals thus far.
His consistency and improvement have made a move away from Leverkusen this summer seem highly likely. Diaby’s contract expires in 2025, hence, the German side is not in a desperate position for the wide playmaker this summer.
Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes once hipped praises on the mesmerizing winger. “Moussa is an extremely quick, technically gifted attacker whose qualities are perfectly suited to our playing style,” said Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes. “He’s one of France’s most talented players and he’s got the ideal conditions here in Leverkusen to develop into a top-class player.”
With Arsenal’s hope of clinching the UEFA Champions League spot this season, considering their current league position, Arsenal is well placed to tempt the Frenchman away from Leverkusen.
Missing out on European qualification last season has allowed Edu and Arteta to make awesome clearouts during last summer’s transfer window, which has in turn slimmed the squad depths and minimized the amount of quality on the bench.
Martinelli, Saka, and Smith Rowe have been able to positively influence and executive Arteta’s game plan thus far, while Nicolas Pepe has had the most limited opportunity this season, a summer sale looks very likely for the latter.
If Arsenal could eventually let go of their most expensive signing, Diaby’s addition would be a huge improvement in quality and consistency among the wingers available at Arteta’s disposal.
