Arsenal inquire about Dani Ceballos situation

Arsenal have reportedly inquired about Dani Ceballos’ situation at Real Madrid.

Ceballos made only thirteen League starts last season and has endured couple of frustrating campaigns at Santiago Bernabeau.

With Zinedine Zidane returning back to Madrid, Dani may fall further down the pecking order and he doesn’t mind parting with the Spainard.

Dani Ceballos has been linked with likes of Arsenal’s arch-rivals Tottenham as well as AC Milan in the past. But according to Sport, Arsenal chiefs have made inquiries about Ceballos’ developments.

After missing out on Champions League, the Gunners have limited funds to play with this summer and Emery will have to work smart in the money driven market..

Madrid, could be looking for a temporary switching as they did with Mateo Kovacic last season, if they couldn’t establish a permanent deal – given that they need to get rid of as many as twelve players due to their currently bloated squad.

And it could well play positively for Arsenal, if they are able to persuade Ceballos he would be best served at Emirates.

Though Spainard remains eager to prove his worth at Real Madrid – but he needs to ‘feel important’.

As of now, Dani is part of Spain in European Under-21 championship squad and has been an instrumental figure in their run to final.

Speaking after Spain’s 4-1 demolition of France in semi-final, the Real Betis academy product said: “I don’t want them to sell me.”

“But I want to enjoy myself and feel important, wherever that may be. I have a bit of experience and I believe that next year will be my best year [yet].”

Speaking about his display at Euros, Ceballos said: “I play to have fun. I really wanted to show what I’m good at. This year hasn’t been my best season.

“I wanted to get things off my chest.”
