Arsenal have added Brighton and Hove Albion attacker Kaoru Mitoma to their wish list ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Gunners are hunting for a new striker, but they haven’t stopped searching for alternatives in other positions on the field. They are trying to get their hands on a new winger, with Real Madrid’s Rodrygo emerging as their No. 1 target recently.
However, the Brazilian star’s wage demands might force them to look elsewhere. Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg revealed that Mikel Arteta wants to add more depth to his frontline, and Mitoma has become a serious option for his club.

Interest beyond Arsenal
Currently, Bayern Munich are leading the race and have already held talks with the player’s representatives. The Bavarian giants missed out on Florian Wirtz, who is close to joining Liverpool in a record-breaking deal.
Hence, they have kept the Seagulls attacker as a backup option. Sporting director Max Eberl and Christoph Freund met with the opposite party this week. It is said that Mitoma is open to moving to Germany if they pay his €50 million (£42m) release clause.
The Brighton winger could also find it tempting to continue playing in the Premier League with Arsenal. However, the North London outfit hasn’t made contact, and it remains to be seen if they show any intent in this transfer race.
Saudi Pro League outfit Al Nassr had an offer rejected last January, after which manager Fabian Hurzeler admitted that he was pleased to have the 28-year-old in his team.
The Japanese international is known for his incredible dribbling skills, work ethic and versatility up front. He was relatively quiet this year, but he still managed to score 10 goals in the Premier League. He is an experienced star who will definitely bring in a lot of quality to any team.
Arsenal are looking at other alternatives to Mitoma
However, we believe that the Gunners might look for a younger alternative. Rodrygo is still a far better option due to his attacking threat, age factor and Champions League experience.
Rodrygo to Arsenal will be on the same level as Alexis to Arsenal.

Bayern and Arsenal are also battling to sign AC Milan winger Rafael Leao. Although the Serie A side lowered their asking price, he is still a costly option as compared to Mitoma.
Sporting director Andrea Berta and his recruitment team are carefully analysing all their options before placing an offer. They need to get the right player who can help the club lift major silverware and ease the burden on their shoulders next season.
