Arsenal have been handed a major boost in their pursuit of Eberechi Eze, with the Crystal Palace star reportedly telling both Chelsea and Bayern Munich that his preference is to join Mikel Arteta’s side this summer.
According to multiple sources close to the negotiations, including @HandofArsenal, Eze is keen on making the move across London and believes he can thrive in Arsenal’s attacking system. However, despite the player’s growing interest in a switch to the Emirates, the Gunners still have a key piece of business to complete before pulling the trigger on any deal.
That piece? offloading Leandro Trossard
While Andrea Berta is now overseeing Arsenal’s summer recruitment, financial discipline remains a priority. The club are not in a position to stack attackers, especially with Noni Madueke (who can play on both wings) arriving and Gabriel Martinelli donning that left-wing role. Trossard’s potential exit has been discussed internally as the most logical move to make room for Eze.
But Arsenal are still waiting for a concrete offer that reflects Trossard’s value. As it stands, you’d think that Arsenal are unlikely to proceed with a formal bid for Eze until Trossard is sold, or at least close to leaving.
Eze’s versatility, technical brilliance and Premier League-proven end product make him a dream fit for Arteta’s evolving attack. The 26-year-old scored 12 goals and registered 9 assists in the league last season and is seen as a long-term solution for creativity in central or wide positions.
The plan is clear. Arsenal are ready. Eze wants the move. But until Trossard’s situation is resolved, the green light for this one remains just out of reach.
