Highly rated Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Oscar Gloukh is drawing considerable interest ahead of the January transfer window, with multiple Premier League clubs lining up moves to secure his services and while several teams, including Newcastle United, Aston Villa, and Manchester City, have shown keen interest, Arsenal also appear to be closely monitoring the 20-year-old Israeli international.
Gloukh, who made a name for himself after rising through the ranks at Maccabi Tel Aviv, joined Red Bull Salzburg in early 2023 and has been a standout performer since, contributing to 16 goals and 23 assists in just 71 appearances.
Though he thrives in the attacking midfield role as a number 10, his versatility allows him to also play on the left wing, making him an appealing option for any club looking to strengthen its attacking depth.
Gunners’ midfield options could be boosted by Gloukh signing
Arsenal, in particular, could benefit greatly from adding a talent like Gloukh to their squad. With Martin Odegaard firmly established as their midfield linchpin, the Gunners are in search of a capable backup who could grow into a key figure for the club in the coming years. Gloukh’s ability to create and score goals from midfield positions makes him an ideal candidate to provide depth and competition in Arsenal’s creative engine room.
Salzburg, despite having Gloukh under contract until 2027, are reportedly willing to entertain offers in the region of €35 million.
For Arsenal, this could be a smart investment, especially as they look to maintain squad depth in multiple competitions. Mikel Arteta’s side are aiming to compete for top honors, and adding a young, dynamic midfielder with Gloukh’s pedigree would strengthen their squad significantly.
Competition from Premier League Rivals
While Manchester City are believed to see Gloukh as a potential long-term replacement for Kevin De Bruyne and both Newcastle and Aston Villa are interested in bolstering their own attacking options, Arsenal’s interest could be the most serious.
Gloukh’s desire to move to the Premier League aligns well with the Gunners’ project, and a move to the Emirates could be a major step forward for both player and club.
