Arsenal, as we all know, are in desperate need of a defender, though are nit linked with many of them apart from Saint Etienne’s highly rated centre back William Saliba. The Frenchman is deemed as one of the hottest prospects in France after his incredible debut last season.
William Saliba has been on Arsenal’s radar for a long time now with the player and the club agreeing on terms about couple of weeks back. Though the Gunners aren’t able to agree on transfer fee with Etienne. But Unai Emery’s side finally had a breakthrough as RMC Sport journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi confirmed that Arsenal has reached an agreement with Saint Etienne for William Saliba on a fee which is believed to be around €30million.
However, Arsenal will have to wait for another season to enjoy Saliba’s services, as his current employers are keen to retain him for atleast another year. But it won’t solve any of current defensive problems.
Though I feel it is a smart move by Arsenal and I’ll talk about it later this week.
