Arsenal are ready to launch a £71m bid for talented Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus after missing out on Mykhaylo Mudryk.
The Gunners have had a long-term interest in the Juventus man and have been eyeing him even before he made the switch to Old Lady. It looks like they are set to resume their interest in the Serbian.
However, there is a begging question as to where Mikel Arteta plans to fit Vlahovic in. Arsenal already have a very good striker in Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah has been such a surprise package.
Nketiah has shown last season and now in the absence of Jesus that he can be a serious player for Arsenal and his good form has been going for so long now, it cannot be put down to a fluke.
Missing out on Mudryk doesn’t necessarily mean that we need to go spend all that money on another player and definitely not on Vlahovic who is by no means a winger.
It would be better off to keep that cash and wait for us to identify our preferred target in the wings and then spend that money to try and sign that player. Dusan Vlahovic is not a signing we must be looking to make and let’s hope we don’t.
