New reports have emerged in Italy claiming Arsenal are ‘serious’ towards laying their hands on Cengiz Under, believing the Turkish wonder-kid to be perfect for Premier League – although AS Roma aren’t keen to let him go.
Italian outlet CalcioMercato writes that Arsenal ‘have decided to focus on Cengiz Under’. They describe Cengiz Under as ‘young, perfect for the Premier League and with wages of less than €1m’.
CalcioMercato, though admits that Arsenal are yet to make an official approach for the winger but are clear that the Italian giants don’t wanna let go of him in winter. However, Roma are even looking to get Cengiz a new deal at Rome with increased wages and perhaps a release clause of €45m (£40m).
TuttoMercatoWeb sticks to the same story – but add that Monchi (Roma director of football) will be meeting Cengiz Under’s agent soon over a potential renewal and indulging new release clause worth at least €40m (£35.6m).
Cengiz Under has netted thrice while laying five in 14 appearances for Roma this season, probably a good record for a 21-year-old plying his trade in one of Europe’s top five leagues.
Do you think he’s worth €40-45m?
