Arsenal have pulled off a major coup on deadline day by signing Chelsea midfielder Jorginho in a £10m plus £2m add-ons deal, with the Italian making his way across to North London from the West.
The Italy international had been a key player for the Blues since joining from Napoli in 2018, but this contract situation and the failure to reach an agreement on an extension, Chelsea have chosen to cash in.
Jorginho’s passing ability and intelligence on the ball made him a valuable asset for any team, and Arsenal were quick to pounce when he became available.
The Gunners have been looking to bolster their midfield options, and the signing of Jorginho will give them a huge boost in that department. He can provide valuable depth to the likes of Thomas Partey.
Arteta: “Jorginho is a midfield player with intelligence, deep leadership skills and a huge amount of Premier League and international experience”.
Jorginho: “All I can promise is that I’m going to give my all to represent this club”.

Arsenal’s signing of Jorginho on deadline day is a massive statement of intent and shows that the club is serious about their title push. With the likes of Thomas Partey and Jorginho in their midfield, Arsenal will be a force to be reckoned with and it will be fun to watch.
