Arsenal are prepared to initiate the release clause of Villarreal midfielder Pablo Fornals in January.
Unai Emery has already brought in Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi in the middle of the park this summer and according to an exclusive report in The Sun, Emery now wants to add a third new midfielder in Fornals.
Pablo has established himself in the midfield for El Submarino Amarillo’s since his arrival from Malaga in 2017. He has made sixty-three appearances, scoring seven goals.
The 22-year-old Spanish International will allegedly be able to leave Villarreal for £17.8 million which can be raised by the Gunners by selling out-of-favour midfielder Mohamed Elneny. The Egyptian, who is yet to make a league appearance under Unai Emery, could see himself out of Emirates if they receive an offer in region of £15 million.
Fornals is viewed as a like-to-like replacement for Aaron Ramsey, who is still muddled over club’s decision to let him go.
