According to the Purple Panel via X, Arsenal are not interested in signing Napoli ace Victor Osimhen this summer.
The 25-year-old’s future remains uncertain with the Italian club being aware of the fact that the player wants to leave. Club President Aurelio De Laurentiis confirmed this news, and manager Antonio Conte further proved it by keeping him out of the squad.
The Nigerian wasn’t a part of the preseason games and also missed out on the Serie A side’s opening contest against Hellas Verona. He didn’t even make it to the bench.
With that being said, the striker must hope that his admirers will come to his rescue. French giants Paris Saint-Germain’s interest has dried up completely. Arsenal were offered a chance to sign the talented African attacker but they showed no signs of seriousness towards the deal.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are still in the race. They are working to sell Romelu Lukaku to Gli Azzurri. Osimhen might move towards the opposite side but for now, both deals are considered independent of each other.

Arsenal pass on Victor Osimhen
We expected the Gunners to be out of this race since there was no way they would bow down to De Laurentiis’ clever negotiation strategies. £110.8 million is a huge sum, a world record fee for the North London side and they won’t simply give it away.
It’s an irony of life: you get what you give. The English giants under the guidance of Sir Arsene Wenger wanted to sign the powerful player during his U17 days with Nigeria.

However, he snubbed a move to the Emirates since he wanted regular game time and joined Wolfsburg instead. Seven years down the line, and now Arsenal doesn’t want to sign him.
No doubt, Osimhen is a lethal striker who brings in a lot of goals plus title-winning experience. But the PL elites are very smart when it comes to dealing with tricky transfers. They are happy with their current options of Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz as their number. nine.
The latter in particular has been fantastic with his link-up play. The fans will get to see more of him as Mikel Arteta might give him the striker role after the arrival of Mikel Merino.
This will not only save Arsenal a huge amount of cash, they will be keeping it for targeting a new striker in the future.
