Few months back, I breathed out my views on how Lacazette can replace Giroud in the French Jersey. And now, this funny game of football is making me point out the ways by which Lacazette can out-master his idle.
This will be the first time, that these two French compatriots will face in an all important Europa League finals. Both may have different vibes going around for the title but the means are same; victory it is.
While Giroud will be chasing his final glory-laden title with Chelsea, Lacazette would want to blossom his first season beautifully. Giroud, presently the top scorer of Europa League of this season has given goosebumps to every opponent he has faced. Lacazette too in the knockouts has come in handy for the Gunners.
Giroud and Lacazette both master inside the box: the former with his thumping headers which the latter also can scare you with but Lacazette’s swirls and twirls are what makes him a beast within. The robustness is same, the physicality similar, but one thing that makes them competitors is their goal-scoring ability. Perhaps, the players are of equivalent importance to their respective teams.
Olivier Giroud, the knight of Europa League since his days for Gunners will be all heads up to add one more Europa League title. The experienced Frenchman is most disastrous in set-pieces, though his gameplay is also threatening.
Alexandre Lacazette and Aubameyang have scored the last 9 goals for Arsenal in the Europa League. The bromance when together is an inseparable bond, highly magnetic from Lacazette’s end. The strength that this Frenchman possesses and the goals that he can score are not worthy of describing, purely because of his ability to score from any position.
Giroud and Lacazette are a different force altogether but impact to same extent. The forwards will have to shoulder all their experience, talent and skills onto the field in a way that it molds with their Manager’s tactics and teams objective.
