Often we disguise short heights with inability. But when I talk about this two, I cannot discard their timidness as inefficiency. Two, not so tall midfielders yet explosives on the pitch, Kante and Torreira are those players that have not received the limelight playing under the shadow of their fellow strikers.
Their contribution as defensive midfielder is a dream turnout for both Chelsea and Arsenal. Two London clubs to face an all important final have to should their respective defence against squad that has equally threatening forward.
We are so used to see Torreira and Kante diving for their team, not afraid to be booked. While Kante has modelled the new position under Maurizio Sarri brilliantly, although it took him time to adapt. Torreira on the other hand, only in his first season at Premier League has done wonders, saving Arsenal a lot times.
We often term them as defensive midfielders and rightly so but these two are those who can turn into constructive playmakers when their teams wants to. More often than not have I seen these two score goals which have proved to be the decider.
Kante and Torreira are two different side of the same coin. If Kante is known to run back in the defense line and save his team by not letting strikers shoot, Torreira does not wait for long. He masters in the mid-line where he dives, brings his body in front and is never afraid to get hurt.
Kante is also a threat in opposition’s box. If allowed a little space he can disguise the defenders and cruise past them only to end up scoring the ball into the nets. The Uruguay international, on the other hand, runs into the box and scores acrobatic shots, hope you Gooners know the goal I am talking about.
On May 29, we may even see Kante and Torreira staring at each other, not because there’s no other guy who could match their height, no offence to the two though, but because of their invaluable importance for their respective teams
